The Clergy Support Memorial Church Board was pleased to certify the Rev. Laura Paul to the office of Appointed Designated Minister in May 2023, with a ministry focus on Pastoral Care. Rev Paul lives in Sooke, BC. Her giving spirit, volunteer work and previous experience with religious and secular ceremonies make her an excellent addition to our clergy.

Pastoral Care

Rev Laura’s commitment to her community is evident through her volunteer work. She has had her own photography business since 2012 and regularly provides pro-bono photography services for local charities, business organizations, and Christmas photos for children. Recently, she has volunteered with the Harbourside Lions Club in Sooke. Her friendly and engaging personality makes her a joy to work with, and her involvement in the community highlights her dedication to giving back.

Rev. Laura is comfortable conducting LGBTQ2+ wedding ceremonies and is interested in officiating baptisms and funerals when the time is right.

Personal Growth

Rev. Laura’s personal growth journey has been marked by her willingness to embrace new challenges and opportunities. She took the initiative to join Toastmasters and completed their course by February 2023. This experience has provided her with some valuable tips and boosted her confidence in speaking before an audience.

Laura considers herself to be more spiritual than religious. She is open to new experiences, exploring new faiths and cultures in the world. Family and friendship are important to her.
